About Us

Réalta Labs was born out of frustration, innovation, and a deep sense of responsibility.

Our founder, Paul McMullan, graduated from the University of Ulster in 2011 and established private clinics the same year. Over the past decade, those clinics have grown to be recognised as among the leading podiatry practices on the island of Ireland, with a reputation built on excellence, innovation, and patient-centred care. With an MSc in Podiatric Sports Medicine, Paul’s passion for biomechanics and orthotic therapy has shaped everything we do.

Why We Started

From the beginning, orthotics were at the core of our clinical approach. But traditional milling methods produced enormous waste, most of which ended up in landfill. That guilt drove us to find a greener, more responsible solution.

At the same time, we were increasingly frustrated with the limitations of labs in Great Britain. Quality was inconsistent, turnaround was slow, and there was little control over the final product. We believed orthoses should never be templated—they should be individually designed for every patient.

Taking Control of the Process

Determined to do better, we brought manufacturing in-house. We partnered with best-in-class orthotic design software and worked closely with manufacturing mentors to refine our process. From day one, every device we made was unique—never from library shells or generic designs.

In 2025, we took a bold step forward with a major investment in 3D printing technology. Using Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) and bio-based PA11 material, we scaled production while creating stronger, more precise, and more sustainable orthotics than ever before.
